Thousands of Bahraini’s took part in a protest today following the death of Ali Hasan Ali Daihi, the Father of Al Wefaq Deputy General Sheikh Hussain Al Daihi.
Many tried to reach Manama’s Pearl Square, the site of the huge democracy protests in February and March, but were met with a brutal police presence.
There were reports and video evidence of armoured police vehicles driving at protesters as well as the use of tear gas to prevent protesters from reaching the roundabout. Despite the heavy treatment, amazingly there have been no immediate reports of casualties.
